Humanoid Robotics Researcher

The PhD student will be part of the innovative research team at Chalmers focusing on humanoid robotics.
Key responsibilities include developing novel algorithms for bi-manual manipulation and locomanipulation tasks using mobile robots with humanoid form factor.
The research will cover topics such as multi-body dynamics, optimal control theory, machine learning, and robotics & artificial intelligence.
The position is fully funded by the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) and includes participation in activities organized within the WASP graduate school.
The successful candidate will be part of the Division of Dynamics, conducting research in close collaboration with national and international universities, research centers, and industries.
Teaching activities will be conducted within the division, offering a broad range of courses from mechanics and solid mechanics to masters' level courses on finite element methods and structural dynamics.
The PhD student will be situated in an emerging research lab led by Dr. Shivesh Kumar, contributing to a new focus on legged robotics and athletic intelligence research within the division.
- Develop advanced algorithms for bi-manual manipulation and locomanipulation tasks.
- Collaborate with researchers and industry partners to implement and test algorithms.
- Participate in WASP graduate school activities and contribute to the development of legged robotics and athletic intelligence research.
- Teach courses within the division and contribute to the development of the research lab.
