Job Description: We seek an exceptional Academic Leader in Economic History to join our team at Linköping University. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-quality research, teaching, and supervision at all levels. This includes initiating and leading research projects, collaborating with colleagues, and publishing research results in top-tier scientific journals and monographs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internationally competitive research of high quality in economic history
  • Teach and supervise students at all levels, including undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral programs
  • Lead and organize research projects, collaborations, and external funding initiatives
  • Foster an attractive research environment within the division through active presence and collaboration with colleagues
  • Secure external funding for doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

Scientific Excellence: Documented scientific excellence at a high international level in economic history, with a strong focus on policy issues and contemporary topics such as globalization, the environment, migration, technological development, the labor market, the housing market, the financial market, and gender.

Pedagogical Excellence: Documented pedagogical excellence in economic history, with experience in teaching and supervising students at all levels, including undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral programs.

Collaboration and Leadership: Proven ability to lead, organize, and administrate activities within teaching or research, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork.

Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required, with the ability to teach and conduct research in Swedish desirable within two years.
