Key Responsibilities- Oversee the mechanical engineering team's output and deliverables, ensuring high performance, quality, and speed.
- Grow the team's engineering capabilities in the design and development of mechanical systems, including foil systems, POD motors, actuators, and more.
- Develop a long-term technical roadmap and strategy for Candela's mechanical development, including resource, financial, and partnership needs.
- Collaborate with the Test & Verification team to ensure a solid test strategy and execution for complete mechanical systems.
- Interface with internal stakeholders and suppliers regarding mechanical engineering matters.
- Identify and communicate risks related to design, development, and implementation.
- Coordinate and define team activities according to priorities and competences.
- Work on competence development of the team and manage appraisals and salary reviews.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Over 3 years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Work experience in a design or product development position involving detailed mechanical design and associated manufacturing processes.
- Experience creating and executing mechanical development and validation test plans, including regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD, preferably Catia.
- Experience with structural analysis tools.
- Ability to stay thorough and focused in a high-paced work environment.
- Perseverant person with a goal-oriented and analytical mindset.
