Job Description

As a Product Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the product development team, working closely with the requirement development department and engineers from the purchasing organization to ensure a deep understanding of product requirements and successful implementation.

You will have a strong knowledge of IKEA specifications, production, standards, and test methods relevant to the product areas you are responsible for.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in product development and improvement projects
  • Developing product requirements for qualitative, sustainable, safe, and functional products
  • Creating durability and functional tests that simulate real-life usage over the product's lifetime
  • Ensuring compliance for the product range across all markets
  • Creating product documentation
  • Communicating technical requirements and test methods to stakeholders, including the product development team, engineers from the purchasing organization, and test labs

Qualifications

You will have a University Degree in engineering or a related field, along with a couple of years of experience in product development and/or product requirements. You will be experienced in leading yourself, taking great responsibility, and driving initiatives from start to finish. Preferably, you will have experience working with food contact requirements.

You will have good analytical skills, high ability to coordinate, lead, and inspire others, and a passion for sharing knowledge and explaining complex matters in an easy way. You will be good at creating your own network and working in teams, making things happen by involving and engaging people. For this position, we highly value great communication skills and the ability to lead yourself to make things happen.

Additional Information

The position is full-time and placed in Älmhult. We believe that your presence with the team and working majority of the time in the workplace is important.
