Are you ready to contribute to the evolution of cab bodies for the Volvo Trucks Heavy Duty series, including FH, FM, and FMX? As a Mechatronics Engineer within the Cab Body group, you will play a vital role in enhancing our customers' experiences. Collaborating with a global team of dedicated professionals, you will engage in the design and development of cutting-edge cab bodies, encompassing advanced engineering, concept exploration, and detailed development leading to product launch.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as the component owner for mechatronic systems tailored for the Volvo brand.
  • Ensure timely component deliveries through close collaboration with suppliers.
  • Plan, document, and secure design and functional solutions across various projects.
  • Identify and address advanced engineering requirements.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to define project specifications, develop innovative solutions, and resolve challenges.
  • Conduct system modeling, simulation, and analysis to forecast performance and refine designs.
  • Develop and implement control strategies for dynamic systems.
  • Participate in all stages of product development, from initial concept to production, including documentation and user training.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and methodologies in mechatronics and related disciplines.
  • Lead mechatronic design efforts within the Doors & Closures group, delivering fully verified technical solutions that meet product QDCFS (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Features, Sustainability) criteria.
  • Engage in a global network of mechatronic design and cab body engineers, contributing to the development of strategic roadmaps and executing necessary advanced engineering studies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechatronics design and development, including internships or academic projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA V5 and programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python).
  • Familiarity with Volvo's internal systems, such as KOLA, is advantageous.
  • Strong documentation and presentation capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of control theory, sensor integration, and actuator design.
  • Experience with embedded systems and software development is a plus.
