Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Location: Our Department

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality, consistent parts for grade control installations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  1. Collaborate with Design Engineers and Suppliers to ensure the production of high-quality parts.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, reviewing their quality documents and managing communication.
  3. Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Ramp Readiness (RR) reviews with suppliers.
  4. Review supplier Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) documents.
  5. Assist with dual sourcing and re-sourcing activities.
  6. Support the onboarding of new suppliers.
  7. Be a subject matter expert in First Article (FA) inspection.
  8. Review supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and control plan documents.
  9. Understand Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements and oversee the preparation of documentation to meet those requirements.
  10. Initiate and manage the Production Change Notification (PCN) process for manufacturer-requested changes.
  11. Create and review validation plans for manufacturing changes.
  12. Understand end-of-line test and inspection processes and analyze yield information to improve yields and reduce defects.
  13. Facilitate root cause analysis for quality issues attributed to suppliers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Electrical Engineering or relevant experience.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with people in multiple geographic locations and work flexible hours to attend meetings.
  • Ability to schedule and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and oversee details needed to manufacture a project.
  • Passion for creating and improving processes.
  • Enthusiasm for working on and around construction machinery.
Preferred Qualifications

It would be great if you have:

  • Experience with facilitating and reviewing PFMEAs, control plans, DFMs, and process flows with suppliers.
  • PPAP experience.
  • Metal fabrication experience.
  • Cable/Harness manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with Creo or other solid modeling packages.
