About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Schibsted Media Group. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and applications for our Data Platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement highly scalable data pipelines and applications for our Data Platform
  • Maintain, monitor, and optimize existing data pipelines to ensure smooth and continuous operations
  • Work in week-long on-call shifts to ensure 24/7 operations
  • Assist internal customers in using our platform effectively
  • Implement data security and privacy best practices
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Data/Software Engineer or in a similar data-heavy role
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Familiarity with JVM languages such as Kotlin, Java, or Scala
  • At least a Bachelor's degree or similar relevant work experience in a quantitative field
  • Good communication skills with fluency in English
Nice to Have
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Kafka, Flink, and/or Spark
  • Programming in Python
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools
  • DevOps, concurrent/multithreaded programming, or distributed systems experience
