Research Scientist

Cepheid is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our Assay R&D team in Solna, Sweden. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of new and improved products within the framework of our company's development plans.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, test, and optimize real-time PCR and RT-PCR assay procedures and assay prototypes based on design of experiments and design input requirements.
- Deliver experimental plans, perform and analyze experiments, and report the results.
- Actively contribute to the achievement of goals in the project, department, and company.
- Participate in sophisticated analytical problem-solving to identify critical performance factors for assay development.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Analyze data using statistical tools such as Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or JMP.
- Work in a BSL3 environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology) with 2+ years of related work experience OR Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline with 0-2 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of molecular biology methods such as PCR and real-time PCR, experimental design, data analysis, and statistical techniques.
- Ability to individually plan, perform, and analyze experiments.
- Good ability to structure, organize, and prioritize lab work and to maintain detailed experimental records.
- Experience from IVD product development under design control.
