
Compliance Director

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring and staying up-to-date on regulatory developments and legislative initiatives within relevant areas of law.
- You will create, review, and update compliance-related policies, guidelines, processes, training, and awareness materials to ensure a strong compliance culture within the organization.
- Conduct internal and third-party compliance and due diligence trainings to educate employees and stakeholders on compliance requirements and best practices.
- IDentify and mitigate compliance risks in business operations by developing and implementing effective compliance programs.
- Spearhead a culture of compliance and integrity within the organization, promoting a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential compliance issues.
- Collaborate with divisional Compliance Officers and other Group functions on various compliance-related topics to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization.
- Provide operational support to Group Center functions and occasionally to divisions, as needed.
- Assist in responding to surveys and inquiries from lenders and other key stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
You will have close working relationships with various stakeholders, including:
- The VP & Group General Counsel, providing advice and guidance on decision-making and budgeting within areas of responsibility.
- Other members of Group Legal, collaborating on matters related to areas of responsibility.
- Stakeholders from departments such as Internal Audit, Treasury, Human Resources, Sustainability, Sourcing, Investor Relations, and Communications, fostering cross-functional relationships and coordinating work and best practices.
- Participating in the Code of Conduct Committee, contributing to the development and implementation of the company's code of conduct.
- Coordinating work and best practices between divisional Compliance Officers who report to the CCO, ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as law or a related discipline.
- At least ten years of professional experience, preferably in a compliance or legal role.
- Several years of prior experience working at a reputable law firm with international reach, with expertise in compliance and regulatory affairs.
- Experience working in an in-house legal or compliance role for an international group of companies, with a strong understanding of global compliance regulations.
- Significant experience working with two or more areas of compliance within the scope of this role, with a proven track record of success.
- A background in compliance due diligence and investigations, with expertise in conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication abilities and a talent for influencing others.
- Able to motivate and influence others, with a strong ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
- Pays attention to details, with a high level of accuracy and precision.
- Awareness of internal controls and governance, with a strong understanding of risk management principles.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong English language proficiency is required; additional languages, particularly Swedish, are advantageous.
