We are seeking a Computing Science expert to join our team at the Department of Computing Science. The successful candidate will contribute to an exciting project that aims to design and develop interactive systems that reason spatially and focus on human-centered AI.
About the ProjectThe project goal is to enrich user interaction with autonomous systems in a bidirectional way: users' interaction enhances the system's spatial reasoning, and users' spatial skills are improved by interaction with the system. We use principles and methods of Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, and Cognitive Science.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop interactive systems that reason spatially
- Contribute to an enriching user interaction with autonomous systems
- Collaborate with researchers from other disciplines and countries
You will work under the supervision of Associate Professor Zoe Falomir and her group, which conducts research in spatial reasoning, spatial cognition, and cognitive human-computer interaction.
The position provides you with the opportunity to pursue PhD studies in Computing Science for four years. While the position is mainly devoted to PhD studies (at least 80% of the time), it may include up to 20% department service (usually teaching).
RequirementsTo be eligible, you should have completed at least 90 ECTS credits in computing science and documented expertise in at least 2 of the following topics:
- Interactive systems and/or interactive interfaces
- Automated reasoning
- Machine learning
Candidates are expected to have good knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and good programming skills in some of the following languages: Python, PyTorch library, OpenAI-Gym, Prolog, ProbLog, Answer Set programming, C++, C#, etc.
