Postdoctoral Researcher in Machine Learning for Climate Science

MPOWIR Mentoring Physical Oceanography Women to Increase Retention is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in Stockholm, Sweden. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work on a research project that combines machine learning with climate science, focusing on applications relevant to meteorology, oceanography, and climate studies.
Research Project: The successful candidate will have the freedom to formulate their own research project using machine learning on applications relevant to climate studies, meteorology, and oceanography. This could involve developing new methods for analyzing data from drifting platforms, combining data from multiple instruments, or exploring the use of machine learning for uncertainty quantification in measurements.
Collaboration and Funding: The project is funded by the Swedish e-science Research Centre (SeRC) and will involve collaboration with other scientists in a multidisciplinary project called SeRC Data Science. You will have the opportunity to work with researchers from Stockholm University, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Linköping University, and Karolinska Institutet.
Requirements and Qualifications: To be eligible for this position, you should have a strong background in machine learning, climate science, or a related field. You should also have excellent research and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
