At SMS group, we're seeking an exceptional Roll Shops Operations Manager to lead our rolling and maintenance teams in Boden, Sweden. This key role involves ensuring the smooth operation of both Roll Shops, managing and leading dedicated planning and maintenance execution teams to achieve operational excellence. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, commercial knowledge, and experience in managing and maintaining assets and resources.



Responsibilities


  • Manage and maintain the proactive and reactive repair procedures related to roll shops and associated parts.
  • Collaborate closely with client operations and maintenance department counterparts to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and maintain operational budgets and create periodic reports on workshop and personnel performance.
  • Maintain operational excellence standards of safety in the workplace.


Requirements


  • Graduate Engineer in mechanical engineering with commercial knowledge and background.
  • Significant experience in the steel making industry, preferably in casting and rolling, or comparable role.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining assets and resources.
  • Independent and methodical approach to work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in MS Office and SAP/ERP systems.
  • Sound knowledge of English, both verbal and written; German language skills an asset.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and develop new skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
