About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled External Development Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts. As an External Development Artist, you will be responsible for providing art feedback and support to external partners in the creation of character art.

Responsibilities

  • Provide art feedback and support to external partners in the creation of character art.
  • Write creative briefs for content, utilizing style guides, visual targets, and reference to convey creative intention and quality level of assets.
  • Create assets matching the quality and technical target of our benchmark assets for the project.
  • Collaborate with leads and project managers to determine budget, personal scope, defining deadlines, and prioritizing backlog content.
  • Help evolve workflows and processes for external development of characters while maintaining and adding documentation about best practices.
  • Work closely with other character artists, concept artists, leads, and project managers to meet project goals.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the technical and visual execution for creating high-end characters.
  • Experience in character art workflows, including photogrammetry, sculpting, texturing, and cloth.
  • Capability in backlog and time management, organization skills, and scoping to deadlines and constraints.
  • Ability to own and drive a class of assets, delegating work and setting priorities with leads and project managers.
  • Identifies and breaks down complex problems, determining the optimal approach based on dependencies and project needs.
  • Verifies visual and technical quality and makes suggestions of improvements where necessary.
