Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at Umeå University. The successful candidate will contribute to research on brain diseases, focusing on Parkinson's disease and other alpha-synucleinopathies.

The project involves analyzing genetic data, health data, and protein biochemistry using statistical programs such as R, SPSS, or similar programming languages. The researcher will work under supervision but with some independence, collaborating with doctoral students and affiliated researchers in various research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data analysis of existing health data, risk factors, and genetic data
  • Writing research reports for international journals
  • Developing new and existing methods for data analysis
  • Managing and analyzing sample collections from patients
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, the candidate must have a doctorate or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate in medicine, epidemiology, statistics, or a similar field. The degree must be completed no more than three years before the application deadline.

The ideal candidate will have experience in statistical processing of data, including analysis of genetic data, health data, and protein biochemistry. A strong background in bioinformatics and research in neurodegenerative diseases or synapse biology is also desirable.
