About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Tooling Expert to join our team at Northvolt Ett AB as a Central Workshop Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining our central maintenance areas and CNC machine shops, ensuring the successful delivery of our project scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies and processes to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians to deliver project scope and timelines.
  • Manage and assess the performance of local and overseas suppliers to ensure correct outcomes.
  • Oversee tooling trials, troubleshooting, and problem-solving to ensure smooth transition to full production.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and alternative tooling processes to reduce costs.
  • Provide tooling and maintenance support to new Giga Factories.
  • Accomplish department objectives by planning and evaluating department activities.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and fun work environment.
  • Manage Capex and Opex annual budgets.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering within the battery manufacturing technology sector.
  • Knowledge of cell assembly, formation, and aging processes.
  • Exceptional knowledge of electrode cutting and joining techniques.
  • Expertise in CNC and manual machining, WEDM.
  • Experience in leading and building teams of engineers and technicians.
  • Experience in leading tool and mould design change processes.
  • Strong mechanical engineering experience with a hands-on approach.
  • Must have developed and mentored junior/entry-level engineers.
  • Must have worked in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Project/program management tool kit including scheduling and project leadership.
  • Proficient with office software, PLM, and ERP systems.
