">We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling fascinating and challenging problems building and supporting the operations of our data centers.
">About the Role
">The AWS Commissioning team (ACx) understands, evaluates, defines and manages the expectations of construction quality in accordance to engineering designs to meet the customer requirements. As a CxE, you will be responsible for:
">- ">
- HVAC Systems: Ensure seamless integration of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across multiple sites.">
- Chilled Water Systems: Develop and implement comprehensive plans for chilled water system commissioning and testing.">
- Building Management Systems (BMS): Collaborate with vendors and contractors to design, install, and test BMS systems.">
- Testing and Balancing: Conduct thorough testing and balancing of mechanical and electrical systems.">
- Pumps and Hydronic Systems: Optimize pump performance and hydronic system efficiency through commissioning and testing.">
- MV and LV Power Systems: Oversee the installation and testing of medium and low voltage power systems.">
- Generators and UPS Systems: Ensure seamless operation of generators and UPS systems during critical periods.">
- Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS): Develop and implement EPMS systems to monitor and optimize power consumption.">
Key Responsibilities:

- Scheduling: Provide multi-discipline input into project scheduling and timeline development.">
- Test Script Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive test scripts.">
- Designing and Planning: Participate in designing and planning projects, ensuring alignment with engineering designs and customer requirements.">
- Component Submittal Packages: Review and approve component submittal packages to ensure compliance with engineering designs and specifications.">
- Factory Witness Testing: Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) to ensure adherence to manufacturer's specifications and customer requirements.">
- System Level and Integrated System Testing: Conduct thorough testing of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure seamless operation.">
- Compliance Auditing: Continuously audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.">
- Status Reporting: Provide comprehensive weekly reporting on the status of all ongoing projects and lessons learned.">
About the Team
">The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a dynamic team of veteran professional Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Architectural Engineers, Project Managers, Operators, and seasoned Amazonians. We are focused on ensuring the rapid delivery of a quality product while maintaining full transparency, recording metrics of manufacturer/contractor/equipment issues pre-PFHO, and identifying opportunities for all our peers and customers.
">BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
">To succeed in this role, you must have:
">- ">
- 5+ years of experience directly related to mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.">
- 3+ years of commissioning experience with certification or training specific to NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning specific education courses.">
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally from between 50% of the time.">
- Required to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.">
Physical Requirements

- Working in a noisy environment.">
- Working in environments that are colder or hotter than a normal office environment.">
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
">Candidates with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, effective communication skills, detail-oriented individuals who can work in high-stress environments, and those with experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals are preferred.
