We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling fascinating and challenging problems building and supporting the operations of our data centers.

About the Role

">

The AWS Commissioning team (ACx) understands, evaluates, defines and manages the expectations of construction quality in accordance to engineering designs to meet the customer requirements. As a CxE, you will be responsible for:

">

  1. ">
  2. HVAC Systems: Ensure seamless integration of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across multiple sites.">
  3. Chilled Water Systems: Develop and implement comprehensive plans for chilled water system commissioning and testing.">
  4. Building Management Systems (BMS): Collaborate with vendors and contractors to design, install, and test BMS systems.">
  5. Testing and Balancing: Conduct thorough testing and balancing of mechanical and electrical systems.">
  6. Pumps and Hydronic Systems: Optimize pump performance and hydronic system efficiency through commissioning and testing.">
  7. MV and LV Power Systems: Oversee the installation and testing of medium and low voltage power systems.">
  8. Generators and UPS Systems: Ensure seamless operation of generators and UPS systems during critical periods.">
  9. Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS): Develop and implement EPMS systems to monitor and optimize power consumption.">

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling: Provide multi-discipline input into project scheduling and timeline development.">
  • Test Script Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive test scripts.">
  • Designing and Planning: Participate in designing and planning projects, ensuring alignment with engineering designs and customer requirements.">
  • Component Submittal Packages: Review and approve component submittal packages to ensure compliance with engineering designs and specifications.">
  • Factory Witness Testing: Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) to ensure adherence to manufacturer's specifications and customer requirements.">
  • System Level and Integrated System Testing: Conduct thorough testing of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure seamless operation.">
  • Compliance Auditing: Continuously audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.">
  • Status Reporting: Provide comprehensive weekly reporting on the status of all ongoing projects and lessons learned.">

About the Team

The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a dynamic team of veteran professional Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Architectural Engineers, Project Managers, Operators, and seasoned Amazonians. We are focused on ensuring the rapid delivery of a quality product while maintaining full transparency, recording metrics of manufacturer/contractor/equipment issues pre-PFHO, and identifying opportunities for all our peers and customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

">

To succeed in this role, you must have:

">

  1. ">
  2. 5+ years of experience directly related to mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.">
  3. 3+ years of commissioning experience with certification or training specific to NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning specific education courses.">
  4. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally from between 50% of the time.">
  5. Required to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.">

Physical Requirements

  7. Responding to off-hour emergency calls.">
  8. Reaching and stretching to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.">
  9. Bending or twisting the body into unusual positions while working.">
  10. Ability to manipulate small wires and objects easily.">
  11. Working in a noisy environment.">
  12. Working in environments that are colder or hotter than a normal office environment.">

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

">

Candidates with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, effective communication skills, detail-oriented individuals who can work in high-stress environments, and those with experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals are preferred.
