Financial Systems Architect

Clear Street is a modernized brokerage ecosystem founded in 2018 to replace legacy infrastructure used across capital markets. Our diversified financial services firm is built from scratch with a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today's complex, global market.

Our platform is fully integrated with central clearing houses and exchanges to support billions in trading volume per day. The Team:

We started with a small group of experienced engineers and the team has significantly increased in size to a team of 20+ with plans to continue to grow. The team was formed to execute on Clear Street's growth strategy of expanding our products and services to reach more asset classes and geographies.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend engineer to join our Swedish Engineering team. You will play an important role in building up the technological backbone of Clear Street. In this role you will work closely with our business partners, build and design new solutions, and support the current business.

Tech Stack: Java, Go, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, TypeScript, React, Kafka

Responsibilities:

• You will solve challenging engineering problems that underpin the financial system, handling tens of millions of trades/day.
• You will build highly available, scalable, mission-critical applications in a modern technology stack.
• You will collaborate with other engineering teams to address scalability concerns to enable higher volumes of trades.
• You will work with users to understand and define new features and drive them to completion.
• You will develop a deep understanding of the business domain.

What We're Looking For:

• At least four (4) years of professional software engineering experience and strong proficiency with Java and our tech stack listed is preferred.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar major.
• Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, such as algorithms and data structures.
• High degree of self-motivation and willingness to jump into unfamiliar areas to solve problems.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to develop new product ideas, design the technology to implement them, and see them through to completion.
• Experience in building trading systems or high-throughput streaming applications.
