The Team:

We've expanded from a small group of experienced engineers to a team of 20+, with plans to continue growing. The team was formed to execute Clear Street's growth strategy of expanding our products and services to more asset classes and geographies. We collaborate closely with engineering and product teams based in New York.

Team members enjoy a unique opportunity to participate in a growth journey, building a technology stack from scratch, and making a substantial impact on the financial market. In this role, you'll work alongside team members in Sweden and NY to build applications for our Execution Management System and our Active Trading businesses.

We prioritize collaboration and office work over remote work.

The Role:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced front-end engineer to join our Swedish Engineering team. You'll play a vital role in building the technological foundation of Clear Street. In this position, you'll work closely with business partners to design and implement new solutions and support existing business operations.

As we grow the team, we're looking for front-end engineers who can help build client-side applications ensuring usability and easy navigation. As an experienced front-end software engineer, you'll contribute to building our technology to offer a modern prime brokerage experience. You'll address complex problems requiring balanced trade-offs while implementing clean and efficient solutions.

This role involves collaborating with engineering teams to develop the technology solution offered to our diverse client base, including hedge funds, traders, and portfolio managers.

You Bring:

  • A minimum of four years of professional experience implementing web applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Experience contributing to systems handling massive amounts of data and scale, distributed systems, and associated technologies.
  • The ability to clearly explain system design and paradigms to engineers and stakeholders.
  • A focus on end-user experience, demonstrated through API design, functionality, and performance.
  • A strong command of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • The ability to communicate technical ideas effectively and collaborate to deliver high-quality products.
  • Mentorship experience and the ability to drive a system design approach to building new services.

Tech Stack:

  • Required experience in Typescript/Javascript and React.
  • Preferred experience in Clear Street's technology stack: Java, Go, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, Protobuf, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Docker.
