Rock Mechanics Specialist

At Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara AB, we are seeking a skilled Rock Mechanics Specialist to join our team in Malmberget Mine. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing ground deformations above ground using various methods.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in rock mechanics and mining (or tunnelling). Your primary responsibility will be to forecast and monitor ground deformations directly using GPS and indirectly with instruments like InSAR, Fotogrammetri, Orthofoto, and LiDAR.

• Monitor ground deformations and analyze data to provide expert advisory reports
• Offer expert advice on ground deformation issues and support operational planning
• Contribute to the improvement of work methods for enhanced efficiency in the Malmberget operations

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A relevant university degree in rock engineering, civil engineering, geology, or similar
• Hands-on working experience in rock mechanics, with a focus on deformation and subsidence control
• Strong analytical skills and experience in monitoring methods and software
• The ability to report and present findings clearly to a range of audiences
• Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Swedish is desirable but not mandatory
