About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registrar to join our team at IKEA Museum. As a key member of our Archive & Collection team, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of routines and working methods for the collection and loan process.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle communication and paperwork for new acquisitions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organize, catalogue, house, and track the movement of all artefacts in the collection, utilizing your problem-solving skills to overcome challenges.
- Correspond with Archive & Collection management and Collection Curator for risk management, maintaining effective communication and trustful relationships.
- Handle loan arrangements in communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination and documentation.
- Research and verify the accuracy of artefacts, utilizing your knowledge of commercial insurance and national/international museum standards.
- Ensure the safety and security of the collection, prioritizing the care and preservation of artefacts.
Requirements
- University Degree in art, art history, museum studies, or comparable experience.
- At least three years of related work experience, with a proven track record of success in a museum database environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, with knowledge of Swedish language an added advantage.
