Your Role:

The Regulatory Liaison Counsel will be pivotal in enhancing Sovos' global ISV ecosystem and revenue by engaging with our partner network. This position merges the expertise of a Regulatory Counsel with the role of a liaison, facilitating partners' access to Sovos' regulatory resources. Reporting to the VP of Regulatory Analysis and Design, you will:

  • Act as a bridge between Sovos' regulatory knowledge and our strategic ISV partners, ensuring the effective integration of compliance elements within their solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with various Sovos functions to address the compliance needs of ISV partners effectively.
  • Oversee a 'regulatory helpdesk SLA' to provide timely and relevant regulatory guidance to partners.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Sovos Regulatory Affairs and engage with public authorities as necessary.
  • Work alongside Sovos Alliances, Sales Engineering, and Product Management to build a comprehensive understanding of our partner ecosystem and their compliance requirements.
  • Represent the interests of ISV and embedded partners in the ongoing development of regulatory monitoring and design processes.
  • Support the VP of Regulatory Analysis and Design in optimizing resources for all relevant functions.
  • Communicate complex tax regulations in an accessible manner for both tax professionals and non-experts.
  • Contribute to Partner Marketing by creating tax-focused materials and participating in webinars.
  • Serve as a regulatory thought leader in partner events and publications.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent master's degree in law, finance, or accounting.
  • Expertise in legislative tracking and tax research methodologies.
  • Experience in the enterprise software market and understanding its value across different sectors.
  • Familiarity with financial, logistical, administrative, and IT processes within businesses.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with IT and data science professionals.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and writing capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret tax-related documents effectively.
  • Self-driven with a commitment to achieving results.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Minimal travel may be required for events.
