Quantum Researcher Position in Levitated Particle Experiments

About the Project:
The Quantum Technology Laboratory at Chalmers Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience (MC2) is looking for a highly motivated PhD student to join their team. The project involves exploring the generation of quantum states in the center-of-mass motion of levitated microparticles.
Research Environment:
The research is placed in a vibrant environment, encompassing the Quantum Technology Laboratory and the Wallenberg Center for Quantum Technology. You will receive training in all required techniques to get a smooth start in performing your project.
Responsibilities:
Your major responsibility is to pursue the goals of your research project and to pursue your own doctoral studies. This includes pursuing the generation of quantum states in levitated particles and contributing to the development of new quantum technologies.
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, you should have a strong background in quantum mechanics and experimental physics. You should also have experience with magnetically levitating superconducting microparticles on a chip.
Benefits:
You will receive a competitive salary of approximately SEK 34,000 per month (gross), depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will have access to a state-of-the-art cleanroom facility for micro- and nanofabrication and a stimulating research environment.
Working Conditions:
The position is available immediately, and you are expected to start as soon as possible. The working hours are 40 hours per week, and you will be embedded in a collaborative and supportive environment.
