EHS Project Engineer

Your Role
As a full-time Project Environment, Health and Safety Engineer, you will report to the Environment, Health and Safety Manager and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to support the Project organization, particularly the Project Core Team, in addressing EHS matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in developing the EHS Project Plan, conducting Risk Assessments, and establishing effective risk control measures.
- Support the Project Manager in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of emergency response plans.
- Coordinate and oversee EHS activities, especially in collaboration with other contractors or operational areas.
- Provide guidance and support to project personnel to mitigate risks of injury, equipment damage, fire hazards, and environmental pollution.
- Address any violations of regulations and Alstom Standards.
Project Management Development:
- Assist the Project Manager in creating, implementing, and maintaining local procedures and tools that align with Alstom Standards and international regulations (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
- Ensure the deployment of Alstom EHS standards and tools at the project level.
EHS Compliance:
- Support the Project Manager in ensuring that project activities comply with the EHS Plan, guidelines, and work instructions.
- Conduct EHS legal compliance checks and project audits as necessary.
Fostering EHS Culture:
- Inform, instruct, and train employees to perform their tasks safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Participate in the execution of project EHS training programs, including EHS inductions and Toolbox meetings.
Reporting, Measurement & Review:
- Assist the Project Manager in documenting, reporting, investigating, and analyzing accidents/incidents to implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports.
Candidate Profile:
We prioritize passion and attitude over experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill, the following qualifications will enhance your success in this role:
- Degree in Engineering or Business
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience
- Experience in project environments is highly valued
- Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Thorough knowledge of local EHS legal requirements
- Fluency in English and Swedish
