We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Oslo or Stockholm. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and consolidating our financial operations, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning.

About the Role

The Group Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the consolidation of financial statements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing insightful financial analysis. This role requires a meticulous professional with strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting: managing the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Regulatory compliance, ensuring the group adheres to all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements in different jurisdictions
  • Tax compliance, coordinating with tax advisors and ensuring the group meets all tax obligations, including the preparations and filing of tax returns
  • Budget, assisting in the preparations of the annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Variance analysis, analyzing variances between actual and budgeted figures and providing explanations for significant differences
  • Establishing and maintaining robust internal controls over financial reporting processes
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors, providing necessary information and ensuring timely completion of audits
  • Conducting financial analysis to support decision-making processes, including profitability analysis, cost management, and financial performance assessment
  • Providing financial insight and advice to senior management to support strategic planning and business decisions
  • ERP system management, managing and optimizing the use of ERP system (Xledger) and other financial software
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Communicating financial information effectively to various internal stakeholders, including executive management, department heads and board members
  • Managing relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, banks and regulatory authorities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Economy, Finance, or related field
  • Extensive experience with IFRS or GAAP
  • Proven experience in preparing consolidated financial statements
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Xledger) and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strategic thinker with business acumen
