At Nordea, we are at the forefront of delivering innovative financial solutions to our clients. Our Leveraged Finance team is responsible for arranging, structuring, underwriting, and executing a variety of financing transactions for Private Equity clients.

We offer our clients a broad range of financing solutions, including bilateral loans, club loans, distributed leveraged loans, and high-yield bonds. Our team of 35 highly dedicated professionals works across the Nordics, and we pride ourselves on our collaborative approach, deep industry knowledge, and commitment to excellence.

The Role

The role is based in Stockholm and involves working as part of our pan-Nordic team of highly skilled professionals who provide our clients with best-in-class advice and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership and lead origination efforts for specific projects and clients
  • Have an active part in our dedicated sponsor coverage efforts across products and services
  • Lead a deal team conducting fundamental credit analysis and due diligence
  • Interact with management teams, private equity sponsors, and Nordea internal stakeholders
  • Drive high-quality transaction materials, including credit memorandums, pitches, and other presentations and marketing materials
  • Provide input on or lead negotiations and work with legal counsels to ensure appropriate structuring/documentation
  • Support monitoring of a large LBO portfolio, contributing to reporting and quarterly management updates

Requirements:

  • Excellent origination and credit skills demonstrated through prior relevant experience (6-10 years), ideally in underwriting, structuring, and executing leveraged finance transactions
  • Ability to direct the debt structuring of a transaction, manage the transaction process with internal and external parties
  • Strong skill set in financial modeling and legal documentation, project management, and client coverage
  • Motivated team player, ability to lead a team and be flexible in approach with interest to work independently
  • Open-minded, intellectual honesty with an ability to adapt to coverage of different financing products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present ideas in a clear, concise, and constructive manner
