We are seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs and Permits Manager to oversee regulatory compliance, secure necessary permits, and manage relationships with government agencies, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.

About the Role:
  • This role is essential for ensuring smooth business operations for Syre, advocating for favorable policies, and maintaining the company's reputation within Vietnam's regulatory landscape.
  • The Public Affairs and Permits Manager will be part of the Vietnam plant leadership team and play a key role in shaping the company's business landscape in Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities:Permitting & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Lead the process of obtaining, renewing, and ensuring compliance with all necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals in Vietnam.
  • Liaise with relevant government authorities, including ministries, local governments, and regulatory bodies, to facilitate permit applications and approvals.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Develop strategies to ensure continuous compliance with evolving regulations.
Public Affairs & Government Relations:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, policymakers, and industry associations to influence favorable regulatory and business environments in Vietnam.
  • Represent the company in public forums, regulatory hearings, and industry meetings.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on legislative and policy developments affecting the business.
  • Develop advocacy strategies to support the company's business interests.
  • Manage crisis communication and risk mitigation strategies in relation to regulatory issues.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, or public affairs in Vietnam, alternatively from a Ministry or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Vietnam's regulatory framework, permitting processes, and government structures.
  • Proven experience in engaging with government agencies and industry associations.
  • A strong network of contacts within government institutions and industry bodies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and develop strategic advocacy plans.
  • Purpose-driven mentality, with a clear mission and passion for driving environmental change.
  • Speaks Vietnamese and proficiency in English.
