We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Metallurgy and Quality team at H2GS Boden. As the Head of Metallurgy & Quality, you will be responsible for driving the growth, expansion, and improvement of our metallurgical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Metallurgical Development: Provide technical assistance to our manufacturing organization while pursuing mission-driven development with a focus on quality, the environment, and economics.
- Team Management: Build and manage a team of engineers, focusing on their growth and development.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with operations managers to develop strategies and technologies that drive innovation and excellence.
- Culture of Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving technology and safety advancements throughout the organization.
- Product Disposition and Release: Oversee the management of products from different production units, ensuring timely and efficient release.
- Education: Degree in Metallurgy or a related field, with experience in carbon steels, micro alloys, HSLA, UHSS, and electrical steels.
- Industry Experience: Preference given to candidates with startup or mini mill/EAF experience.
- Certifications: Experience with ISO, VDA, IATF, and other industry certifications.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry standards, including ISO, DIN, JIS, and other relevant standards.
- Steel Making and Process Plants: In-depth knowledge of steel making and process plants, including EAF through galvanizing.
- Product Development: Experience in product development in a production environment.
- Mechanical and Chemical Testing: In-depth knowledge of mechanical and chemical testing.
