Principal Scientist Analytical Development (mAb/ADCs)
Working with the Chief Scientific Officer, a highly motivated Principal Scientist Analytical Development is required for an exciting new project manufacturing and producing Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs) based on our site in Cuxhaven, Germany.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Process Development team embarking on a project to deliver a high commercial volume of product.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Procurement, qualification, usage and maintenance of analytical equipment in particular HPLC formats (SEC, IEX, RP, HIC), CE-SDS, cIEF, LC-MS, Gas chromatography
- Execution of analytical technics for characterization of mAb and ADC products
- Training, supervision and development of Junior Scientists
- Optimization of analytical methods for mAb/ADC analysis with focus on chromatography methods, CE-SDS and cIEF
- Trouble shooting of experimental data and representation of such data in client TeCos
- Generation of presentations for internal core team meetings and client TeCos
- Continuous screening and evaluation of innovative equipment for mAb/ADC analysis
- Preparedness for external training as required
- Subject Matter Expert function for analytical characterization for mAb/ADC products
- Generation of equipment and method SOPs, transferrable to QC department
- Training of QC Operators on comparable equipment and technical lab work
- Generation of Study Plans and Report and review of such documents

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- University degree in e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology or comparable field
- PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or related field
- Post-Doc or comparable industrial 4-6 years experience in especially chromatographic analytical methods, preferred it includes mAb/ADC products
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mAb / ADC analytical characterization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Appropriate and relevant publication record
- Strong organizational and technical problem-solving skills for relevant field
- Willingness to work in and adapt to GMP industry (develop already with GMP in mind)
- Clearly pro-active approach, mind and working style
- Willingness and ability to deliver / adhere to agreed timelines
- Strong service provided mindset
DESIRABLE
- Fluency in spoken and written German
- Industrial experience is an advantage
- Experience in some of the following equipments/methods for mAb/ADC analysis is of advantage: Orbitrap LC-MS, MALDI-TOF, CD, SPR, UV/Raman, UV/IR, NMRs (NOESY/TOCSY), MS formats (ESI, HDX, FTICR), SPR

LOCATION
This is an onsite role based in Cuxhaven, Germany. There will be some expectation for Global travel.
