Your role and responsibilities

As a Production Engineering Manager at ABB Large Motors and Generators, you will play a key role in shaping our production processes- ensuring stability, productivity and growth. Your team will consist of 9 highly skilled Production engineers, covering manufacturing technologies including punching, welding/brazing, turning/milling, assembly and high-voltage testing (stationary and rotating). Product- and in-house process knowledge are already at a high level within the team. A key contribution from you as new manager will be to lead an ongoing transformation journey towards higher volumes. Supporting our growing business with more effective tools/way-of-working with regards to deviations management, continuous improvements, process optimization etc.

In this role, you will:

- Lead and develop the production engineering team, ensuring daily operations are aligned with the department's goals and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous development.
- Oversee budget management, forecasting, and cost control to ensure financial targets are met, with a keen eye on optimizing costs while maintaining high performance standards.
- Drive structured activity planning and execution, addressing deviations and implementing follow-up plans to ensure steady progress and alignment with financial goals.
- Manage and support continuous improvement efforts and the development of new processes to drive efficiency, reduce resource waste, and contribute to sustainable energy practices.
- Ensure preparation for increased production volumes, aligning team efforts with future growth while maintaining a strong focus on improvement-oriented goals.
- Be responsible for risk management and problem-solving, ensuring that production challenges are addressed effectively and that your team is equipped to handle operational challenges.
- Work closely with production teams, acting as a trusted partner to ensure that a stable, reliable and cost-effective production is at the heart of operations.

You will report to the Operations Development Manager, whose overall responsibility also include Production Project Office, Logistics Development and Maintenance organization.

Qualifications for the role

- At least 3 years in a leadership role within manufacturing environment/general industry, with a focus on structured, planned, and fact-based approaches.
- Relevant production-related education, including knowledge of Lean manufacturing/Six sigma principles, flow optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
- A solutions-oriented mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities and proactively developing ideas for improvement.
- Solid knowledge of cost management, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure financial stability and performance.
- A natural mindset of wanting to challenge status-quo.
- Experience mentoring and guiding team members to help them succeed and grow in their roles.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), with Swedish being a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP systems is an advantage.
