Position Summary
The Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for providing clinical Speech-Language Pathology services including assessment, diagnosis, program planning, therapy, counselling, consultation, and education to the referred patient, family, and mediators.
Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree in the area of Speech-Language Pathology, or academic equivalent required.
2. Member in good standing with CASLPO (College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario) required.
3. Membership with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) is considered an asset.
4. Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience required.
5. MBSImP Standardized Clinical Training and Reliability Testing an asset.
6. Demonstrated strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
7. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task efficiently.
8. Demonstrated computer literacy.
9. Demonstrated ability to transport materials (up to 20 lbs.), or push a patient in a wheelchair.
10. Demonstrated ability to sustain intense listening/mental concentration.
11. Demonstrated ability to make frequent changes in body position.
12. Demonstrated good visual skills with attention to detail.
13. Demonstrated ability to work both independently or in a team environment.
14. Demonstrated ability to focus on quality outcomes.
15. Demonstrated knowledge of equipment used in assessing language skills.
16. The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital.
