Västerås, Sweden Westermo Network Technologies AB Full time

Are you passionate about Linux and believe that testing is the key to quality? If so, we want you to join our team as a Software Test Developer at Westermo

At Westermo, we develop software for our own hardware, running on a Linux-based operating system called WeOS. We integrate a variety of Open Source packages along with a significant amount of software developed from scratch. Our Software Test Team is now looking for a new colleague

Are you our new Software Test Developer?

Do you love taking projects from start to finish? If so, you'll fit right in with our Agile team As a Software Test Developer at Westermo, you'll be diving into the exciting world of developing test cases in Python for our Linux-based operating system, WeOS. Your journey will include everything from requirement analysis and design to coding, integration, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.

But that's not all You'll also be involved in other development teams, evaluating test scopes, developing and maintaining automated tests, and exploring and troubleshooting various challenges. With your team by your side, help and support are always just a step away

What You'll Be Doing:

- Reviewing requirements and writing automated tests for regression testing.
- Reviewing and approving requirements and tests written by WeOS developers.
- Performing various forms of manual testing.
- Configuring different testing tools, focusing on cybersecurity, performance, and stability.

As a team, we value openness and sharing of knowledge, recognizing that all members are juniors on some topics and seniors on other. We give no refuge to holy cows or the status quo, new ideas about how we should build our platform are always welcomed and encouraged. We pride ourselves on being able to change our minds the second we hear a better solution to a given problem.

So, who are we looking for?

We believe in the power of teamwork and value those who think the team's success is more important than individual achievements. As we develop network technology based on embedded Linux we see that knowledge, and a genuine interest, in Network Technologies and experience from working in a Linux environment is key in this role.

In other words:

- Someone who enjoys both coding and testing.
- A holistic thinker who brings systematic thinking to the team.
- A communicative and pedagogical individual who loves working with others.
- An explorer who likes to try, test, and learn with colleagues.

Requirements:

- Professional experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- A genuine interest in software testing methodologies and troubleshooting.
- Fluency in both Swedish and English.

Bonus points for:

- Knowledge in Networking Technologies such as switching, routing and security protocols.

Oh, and don't worry, if you’re not an expert in all the things described – you'll learn.

In return, we offer: You will be working at the forefront of technology in a friendly, open culture where we you get the opportunity to learn from skilled colleagues every day. A mature and caring leadership in a flat organization. Through our collective bargain agreement you will be covered in terms of insurance, pension and other benefits. We like to have fun together and we regularly enjoy sports and other social activities as a team. We believe that magic happens when people meet. We are a learning organization and we truly love to try new things, think outside the box and be innovative together
