We are now looking for a Head of Legal Corporate Support with a focus on GRC and project support to join our head office in Malmö.

About the role

In the role as Head of Legal Corporate Support, you will be responsible for Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance as well as providing legal support to internal investment and growth projects and M&A transactions. The legal function is led by the VP Head of Legal Department, to whom you will report, and consists of seven legal counsels and one assistant. The function is divided into three different departments, and you will be responsible for the department Legal Corporate Support. You will be responsible for the department on Group level and assist and advise the VP Head of Legal Department, units and functions, and Group Companies within Perstorp (both Swedish and foreign subsidiaries) as well as PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad´s wholly-owned subsidiary BRB International BV. Currently, the role does not have any direct reports, but it may do so in the future as the legal function expands.

The primary compliance areas that you will work with include anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, data privacy, sanctions, and export control. When leading internal projects and M&A transactions you will work closely with both internal legal counsels as well as external law firms.

It is a varied and dynamic role which encompasses the following responsibilities:

1. Independently develop, implement, and maintain Perstorp Group processes within Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance on a global basis;
2. Provide advice, make risk assessments and handle internal reporting, including quarterly Legal risk reporting process;
3. Evaluate and develop tools and methods for online database screening and monitoring of business partners;
4. Conduct due diligence investigations on high-risk business partners;
5. Monitor the legislative and regulatory development within GRC;
6. Identify and evaluate risks as well as investigate incidents;
7. Safeguard continuous improvement with the implementation of 'best practices';
8. Act as the project leader for the legal workstream in internal projects and M&A transactions, from inception to completion. This includes responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating all project/transaction documents, collaborating with internal and external legal advisors and, when applicable, coordinating and overseeing the due diligence process, etc.;
9. Raise awareness, develop and provide internal training, including administration of intra-Group online training program.

You will work from our head office which is located in the city center of Malmö, next to the train station.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a qualified lawyer with a Master of Laws (LL.M) and around 10 years of experience from an international group of companies or reputable law firm. You have solid experience of driving governance, risk management, and compliance processes as well as experience from leading larger investment projects and M&A transactions. You have excellent language skills in English.

To be successful in this role you must be an analytical, solution-oriented, and business-minded person with a high work capacity. You have a high level of integrity and are confident in your competence and decision-making. Furthermore, you have excellent communication skills and great ability to work in a group.
