As a technical partner, our role is to use our extensive knowledge in software development, product development, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and data science to support our clients in becoming more data-driven. We firmly believe that data and its flow through all parts of the energy system is a key component of the future energy landscape and is critical to the success of the energy transition that is required.
Our customers range from large energy companies to startups with energy-related products (e.g. ABB, Polarium, Stockholm Exergi, Hitachi Energy).
As our Business Developer at Helicon, you will create and specify energy-related products for new and existing customers, utilizing a combination of your energy competence and business acumen. In short, this role combines energy competence, product management, and business development.
You will join our CEO and technical specialists in meeting executives at potential customers to understand their needs and define a high-level solution for our teams to start working on. You will also keep a continuous dialogue with our existing customers to understand their current, and predict their future, needs to grow our existing business.
Besides the value you bring to the customer projects, your work also includes;
Business development
Utilizing your knowledge within the energy domain to attract new customers and expand with new projects for our current customers.
Building a relationship with customers at a higher level to get a good insight into their business and needs to proactively suggest new projects to solve the customer’s needs and grow Helicon’s business. This will probably require customer visits on-site.
Customer advisory and realization
Utilizing your experience within the energy sector to both challenge and advise the customer on solutions that will bring them value, be it insights from ancillary services, frequency trading, recent developments on capacity, or new battery solutions. Besides only advising you will also kick off the actual realization of the solution by initiating discussions and creating material.
Customer product management
Analyzing the user needs, working out a proposal for a solution, setting the strategy, product vision, and main features (possibly even a roadmap). Your work is done on a high level (e.g. building insights on historic usage, production optimization, or utilizing battery solutions) which is then further broken down into a backlog filled with user stories by a product owner from either Helicon or the customer, once again depending on the customer’s current skills and organization. During downtime between projects, you’ll help with further deepening the energy competence of all employees at Helicon, look for new possible customers, and participate in conferences and networking events to grow our brand.
We’re looking for an outgoing person who enjoys building relationships and enhancing the energy market on a strategic level.
A good fit for this role would;
- Understand the business behind technical solutions and are comfortable interacting with customer’s C-levels.
- Have previous experience on a senior level (5+ years). Throughout the years you have gained great knowledge of the energy market on a strategic level (although detailed level knowledge is a plus).
- Have a background within the energy sector as a management consultant, business developer, or strategist, but if you feel you’re up for the challenge and have another background don’t let that stop you from applying
