We are now looking for an innovative and driven individual to join our Procurement team as a Senior Category Manager within Business Area Iron Ore.

Shaping the future

At LKAB, we are leading the transformation of our industry toward a sustainable future. Just as we aim to reshape the world, we are committed to developing every individual on our team, both personally and professionally. Are you ready to help shape the future of the mining and mineral industry?

Your role

As a Senior Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for initiation, design, development, implementation, and follow-up strategies within assigned categories. You will proactively unlock category insights that lead to sustainable supply chains, reduced risk, and total cost.

In your role, you will be responsible for cross-functional category teams as well as establishing and managing relations with internal stakeholders and suppliers. We offer a permanent position in Kiruna, Gällivare, Luleå, or Stockholm. Frequent travelling to our mining sites in Kiruna, Malmberget, and Svappavaara is a natural part of this position.

In the role, you will:

  • Together with cross-functional category teams, initiate, design, develop, implement, and follow-up purchasing strategies and activities.
  • Identify and decrease costs in the value chain.
  • Monitor and develop the current supplier base.
  • Initiate and follow-up contract and supplier relationship management, risk mitigation, and quality improvements.
  • Identify cost savings through analyses, sourcing, negotiations, and event-driven activities to achieve assigned cost reduction goals.
  • Ensure contract terms and follow-up on sustainable supply chains.
  • Establish and manage relations with internal stakeholders and guide them in purchasing processes and strategies.
What you bring

We are looking for someone with strong communication and contract negotiation skills who thrives on building lasting relationships. With a solid understanding of key commercial terms and conditions, you approach challenges with both analytic precision and creative thinking.

You are a team player, self-motivated and driven, yet able to lead with confidence. By embodying honesty and integrity, you naturally build trust and inspire those around you. High ethical standards are at the core of your professional approach, and you manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.

We also see that you have:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in economics, technology, logistics, law, or other related fields.
  • Several years of experience in strategic procurement and supplier relationship management (SRM) – strategic management of supplier relationships, mutual co-creation of value, focus on total cost, continuous monitoring of supplier performance, proactive identification, and mitigation of risks.
  • Documented achievements in strategic procurement and SRM.
  • Excellent written and spoken Swedish and English.
  • A valid driver's license (equivalent to Swedish Class B).
  • Experience from the process and mining industry as well as IFS and Coupa knowledge is an advantage.
What we offer:

A stimulating and challenging job, working on cutting-edge issues. You will be part of a competent and committed team of specialists who together shape the future of the mining and minerals industry. In addition, you will also receive:

  • Reward program.
  • Free access to LKAB's own gym and our partners' facilities in Norrbotten.
  • Wellness allowance and educational support, along with access to an art association, leisure club, mountain cabins, and family activities.
  • Enhanced parental pay with up to 90% of your regular salary for up to six months (after one year of employment).
  • Support and assistance in cases of illness or questions about work environment, health, wellness, and rehabilitation.
  • Compensation for dental care and protective eyewear, including terminal glasses.
  • Opportunity to apply for scholarships for both your and your children's studies.
  • Access to our pension and insurance program with favorable rates.
Does this sound exciting?

Then we are curious to know more about you Submit your application by January 31.

As the Christmas holidays are approaching, feedback may take some time. We look forward to getting in touch with you after the end of the year and thank you for your patience. We wish you a very happy holiday season
