Here at Elekta, you will make a difference. We design and build technology used to treat cancer patients worldwide. Join us to build technology that brings hope for everyone dealing with cancer.

To further invest in the innovation of tomorrow's radiotherapy solutions, we are now recruiting an imaging physicist to our Imaging group. The position is located at Elekta's head office in Stockholm, Sweden and you will report to Karin Ask.

What you'll do at Elekta

As an imaging physicist, you will take part in designing, developing, and improving the X-ray based imaging solutions in our existing and future radiation therapy devices. Your team consists of skilled physicists and researchers focusing on most aspects of CBCT imaging.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Define and perform experiments on imaging test setups
  • Develop algorithms modelling the physical effects of X-ray imaging systems
  • Establish and evaluate image quality measures
  • Further develop and apply the existing CBCT simulation framework, e.g. Monte-Carlo scatter estimation.
What you'll bring

To be a suitable candidate for this position we think you have a PhD or master's degree in physics, medical physics or similar. It is meriting if you have prior experience of working in a regulated industry, preferably in the medical sector. You are proficient in English, both written and spoken.

  • Explorations in the CBCT imaging domain
  • Mathematical modeling
  • Algorithm development
  • Python/C++ programming for prototyping

You like spending time in the test lab and using your analytical skills to solve complex problems.

What you'll get:

In this role, you will work for a higher purpose; hope for everyone dealing with cancer, and for everyone regardless of where in the world, to have access to the best cancer care. In addition to this, Elekta offers a range of benefits:

  • 30 paid vacation days/year, additional 4 Elekta days off/year (plus bank holidays)
  • Attractive defined contribution pension scheme
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Lunch Benefit
  • Contribution to wellness activities
  • Hybrid work option (you are required to work on location at least 3 days/week)
