This position reports to:
Global Trade & Logistics Manager
Your role and responsibilities:
Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of global trade compliance? Join us and make an impact on a global scale, working alongside passionate professionals in a collaborative and innovative environment.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Trade Program Manager to coordinate and lead initiatives across global operations and technology, aligned with the Global ABB Trade Program.
As the Global Trade Program Manager, you will play a key role in leading the implementation of the ABB Trade Program, owning and driving projects from design to execution within the Process Automation Business Area (PA BA). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, elevate program maturity, and ensure full compliance with global customs, export control, and sanctions regulations. In this role, you will report directly to the Process Automation Business Area Trade Manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Program and Project Management: Oversee the entire trade program and project portfolio, enhancing trade and operational processes while supporting the BA Trade Team at both tactical and operational levels.
- Innovation and Best Practices: Drive innovation across the organization, promoting and sharing best practices to improve trade compliance and operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders to successfully achieve program goals and support a variety of business functions.
- Data Analytics and Trends: Leverage data analytics to monitor trade compliance trends, drive continuous improvement, and deliver actionable insights and visibility into program performance.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with global business and operations teams while helping to develop and sustain a best-in-class Trade Compliance program.
You will join a dynamic and collaborative environment with cross-functional activities, substantial visibility, and the chance to work on high-impact projects focused on innovation. You will enjoy autonomy and empowerment in decision-making.
Work model: Hybrid.
This is a global role supporting the Process Automation Business Area. Your key stakeholders will include colleagues across various functions within the division (e.g., Supply Chain, Sales, Operations) and the global and local Trade community.
We encourage applications from candidates worldwide. For operational convenience, preference will be given to those located in Europe, though all qualified candidates will be considered.
Travel: Business travel will be required on an ad hoc basis (up to 20%).
Qualifications for the role:
- To be successful in this role, you bring a minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in Trade Compliance, complemented by 3-5 years of broader professional experience within Logistics or Supply Chain Management. You possess a solid understanding of customs regulations, export controls, sanctions, and the wider context of global logistics and supply chain operations.
- You are experienced in managing programs and leading projects from concept through to execution, utilizing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and to drive impactful outcomes, ideally within a trade compliance environment. Your background includes expertise in both change management and project management, enabling you to navigate and influence complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- You take a hands-on approach to fostering innovation and continuously seek opportunities to share best practices while remaining agile in the face of evolving business demands.
- A strong familiarity with U.S. Export Administration Regulations and the global sanctions framework - including U.S. sanctions and embargo programs - is considered a valuable asset.
- You hold a university degree in International Trade, Supply Chain / Logistics, Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of SAP ERP and SAP GTS systems would be advantageous.
- Additionally, you have a track record of developing training programs and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance trade compliance processes. You thrive in a collaborative, global environment and are skilled at building relationships, coordinating across teams, and influencing stakeholders - even without formal authority.
- Fluency in English is essential, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate in an international business setting.
We value people from different backgrounds. Apply today for your next career step within ABB and visit www.abb.com to learn about the impact of our solutions across the globe. #MyABBStory
