Executive Director at IFPA - Global Leader in Fighting Psoriatic Disease

IFPA is the global voice dedicated to advancing psoriatic disease policy. IFPA is the trusted convener of psoriatic disease stakeholders across sectors and geographies, partnering to strengthen national and regional capacity and leadership. IFPA works with others to generate and share evidence to inform change that can address the unmet needs of people living with psoriatic disease.

As the Communications Lead you will manage the work with IFPA's communication according to the global strategy. It is necessary to be balancing strategic and creative thinking with hands-on implementation and leading proactive and reactive communications – from planning to execution. This role has an international focus, and you will be working across all WHO regions.

The Communications Lead reports directly to the Executive Director and is based at our head office in Stockholm, Sweden.

About the Role

As Communications Lead, you will oversee IFPA's communication efforts, ensuring alignment with our global strategy. You will work closely with the Design & Social Media Communicator and Community Manager to deliver compelling content, manage outreach efforts, and drive impactful campaigns. This role involves both strategic planning and hands-on execution, covering thought leadership, brand management, media relations, and digital engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications & Thought Leadership:

  • Develop and execute IFPA's communication strategy to enhance outreach and engagement.
  • Guide spokespersons and team members in media interactions, presentations, and interviews.
  • Ensure consistent and impactful messaging across IFPA's initiatives and programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate IFPA's communication activities, reporting outcomes to stakeholders.

Brand Management & Media Relations:

  • Strengthen IFPA's brand identity, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media and key stakeholders to raise IFPA's profile.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts, ensuring IFPA's reputation remains strong.
  • Oversee quality control for all external communication materials.

Digital Communications & Social Media:

  • Transition IFPA to a digital-first approach, optimizing content for web and social media.
  • Analyze data from Google Analytics and social media insights to refine digital strategies.
  • Oversee the creation of engaging digital content, working closely with the Design & Social Media Communicator.
  • Support the development of the IFPA Member Portal in collaboration with the Community Manager.
  • Produce and oversee content for press releases, newsletters, reports, and advocacy materials.
  • Develop toolkits and campaign materials for IFPA's global initiatives.
  • Lead World Psoriasis Day and support communication efforts for projects like the Global Psoriasis Atlas.
  • Manage communication budgets and planning, ensuring resources are used effectively.

Who You Are

  • A strong communicator with experience in strategic communications, branding, and content development.
  • Skilled in project management, working with external agencies and partners.
  • Comfortable using data and analytics to drive communication strategies.
  • A proactive leader who can balance strategy with hands-on implementation.
  • A native English speaker (or equivalent proficiency).
  • Willing to travel periodically for global conferences and events.
