SEB Kort Bank AB is a fully owned subsidiary of SEB that offers credit cards and other payment solutions and services to both businesses and consumers. SEB Kort's legal team consists of a Nordic team with ten lawyers, of which seven are based in Stockholm. SEB Kort's lawyers work in close cooperation with the business, providing legal advice to the business in Sweden and our branches in Denmark, Norway, and Finland, as well as our wholly owned German subsidiary AirPlus with a payment service business in over thirty countries.

SEB is now looking for two Legal Counsels, one junior and one senior profile, to join SEB Kort's legal team. You can be based in either Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, or Helsinki.

About the role:

As a legal counsel, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities and tasks, as well as providing day-to-day legal advice to the business. You will also be part of larger projects and product development processes. The legal team is daily involved in questions concerning third-party arrangements, including outsourcing, DORA, GDPR, PSD2/3/PSR, consumer protection, consumer credits, insurance, marketing regulation, and corporate and commercial law.

SEB Kort is looking for a candidate who is business- and solution-oriented with a clear focus on aiding and guiding the business and our contract owners to make good decisions.

To be a successful Senior Legal Counsel candidate you should:

  1. Have a completed Master of Law degree from a Nordic university;
  2. Have at least 5 years' experience e.g. from a law firm, bank, or similar or as an in-house lawyer. Experience of payment service regulation, outsourcing, and DORA is seen as an asset;
  3. Have experience of drafting and amending contracts in general but with a focus on commercial supplier- and partner contracts and the independent negotiation of such;
  4. Have excellent spoken and written skills in one Scandinavian language and English. Other language skills are seen as an asset;
  5. Have a positive and proactive attitude and a willingness to build relations within the organization;
  6. Value working in a fast-paced environment and working closely with the business in finding pragmatic and business-oriented solutions;
  7. Be thorough and have a structured way of working;
  8. Can travel to our other Nordic branches approx. four times a year.

To be a successful Junior Legal Counsel candidate you should:

  1. Have a completed Master of Law degree from a Nordic university;
  2. Ideally have experience as an in-house legal counsel, especially within the financial sector. Experience with payment service regulation is seen as an asset;
  3. Have excellent spoken and written skills in one Scandinavian language and English. Other language skills are seen as an asset;
  4. Have a positive and proactive attitude and a willingness to build relations within the organization;
  5. Value working in a fast-paced environment and working closely with the business in finding pragmatic and business-oriented solutions;
  6. Be thorough and have a structured way of working;
  7. Can travel to our other Nordic branches approx. four times a year.
