You'll play a crucial role in harnessing the power of data to drive informed decisions, improve user engagement, and contribute to product innovation. You'll be working with a modern tech stack - with NestJs (Typescript), React Native (Expo), GCP & PostgreSQL. This role is very hands-on and also involves hiring, growing and leading the tech team.

You will manage the engineering and data team while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product management, marketing and sales to ensure that Hormona's technology and products are scalable, secure, and high-performing. Additionally, you will oversee data policies and governance, ensuring that data collection, analysis, and usage align with the highest standards for privacy, security, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technology Strategy & Leadership: Define and lead the technology strategy to ensure scalability, security, and performance of Hormona's tech stack, while actively contributing to its implementation and development.
- Hands-On Development: Write, review, and optimize code for critical components of the platform, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and maintainable software solutions.
- Build and Maintain Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain the app's backend systems, APIs, and database architecture to support real-time analytics, personalization, and seamless user experiences.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data insights to inform business decisions, working directly with data pipelines and analytics tools to enable real-time insights and reporting.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with the product, engineering, marketing, and data science teams to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions and data insights into the user experience.
- Security & Compliance: Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR, while coding robust security measures into the platform.
- Data Governance: Establish data governance best practices, ensuring that data is accurate, reliable, and used responsibly across all teams.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor, debug, and improve system performance to ensure a fast and reliable experience for users.
- Drive Technology Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies and frameworks, adopting and integrating them as necessary to keep the platform cutting-edge.
- Mentor and Guide Team Members: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- User Conversion Enablement: Collaborate with product and marketing teams to leverage data insights for optimizing user funnels and improving conversion rates from free to paid users.
- Data Infrastructure Management: Build and maintain robust data pipelines, storage, and processing systems that enable effective use of analytics and machine learning for personalization and product improvements.
- Ownership of Deliverables: Take full ownership of technical deliverables, ensuring they are delivered on time and align with strategic goals.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience (5+ years) in leading technology and data teams, ideally within the health or wellness industry, with a focus on mobile applications and data analytics.
- 5+ years of experience working with NestJs (Typescript), React Native (Expo), GCP & PostgreSQL.
- Strong expertise in managing data infrastructure, including data storage, analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, SQL, BigQuery, etc.).
- Experience in utilizing data to drive decision-making, improve user engagement, and enhance product performance.
- Familiarity with health data compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and experience managing secure data operations.
- Expertise in implementing data analytics and machine learning models to personalize user experiences and optimize business outcomes.
- Experience in scaling technology platforms and ensuring they meet growing user demands and product innovations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and ensure alignment across business units.
- A data-driven mindset with the ability to extract actionable insights from complex datasets and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining a focus on practical execution, particularly in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in SaaS, subscription-based, or mobile app business models.
- Familiarity with women's health trends, challenges, and opportunities in the digital health space.
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and optimization of user flows and conversion points.
- Experience with image processing reading and AI.

What we offer you:

- A friendly, curious, and international working environment with a small, ambitious team.
- Flexible working opportunities.
- Impact the future of the company.
- Office space in Stockholm.
- Fun meet-ups with the whole team around Europe.
- Play a big role in our mission to improve the future of female health.
- Growth opportunities.
- Competitive salary with the opportunity for options.
