Job Description

Turner & Townsend is currently recruiting for a Project Director to join our Data Centre team.

With a market leading client base and the opportunity to take the lead on strategic commissions and high-profile projects, this is an exciting time to join the business unit and grow a career with Turner & Townsend.

This role is client facing, working within a professional and ambitious team, where you will receive excellent support. We have brought our brightest minds together to respond to our client's Project and Programme management objectives working on a hyperscale project of £1 billion plus.

Responsibilities

As a Project Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing large-scale and complex data centre projects in the real estate sector, from feasibility, design, construction and completion.
  • Developing and implementing project strategies, plans and large scale budgets on complex construction projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress and other performance indicators.
  • Managing and mitigating risks and issues.
  • Preparing and delivering written project communication materials.
  • Preparing and presenting formal project progress and other reports.
  • Managing and coordinating the client, contractors and designers.
  • Attending and chairing meetings and drafting minutes.
  • Other responsibilities, to include:
    • Developing and delivering presentation materials for client pitches.
    • Managing and updating key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database.
    • Providing thought leadership and insights on the latest trends and innovations in the Data Centre real estate sector.
    Qualifications
    • Minimum 12 years' experience.
    • Member of a chartered institute e.g., RICS / CIOB although not essential.
    • Good knowledge of construction industry and Data Centre sector themes.
    • Good knowledge of project lifecycle and business case approvals process.
    • Track record of delivering the construction of hyperscale Data Centre projects from inception to completion.
    • Extensive knowledge of and experience in large scale Data Centre projects in the real estate sector.
    • Experience of master planning/strategic estate development and capital project planning for business case compilation is desirable.
    • Demonstrable experience in client-facing roles at all levels.
