As a Senior Test Engineer in the Premium team, you will be responsible for ensuring highly efficient application testing and enhancing the test automation framework for the Truecaller service and app on the Android (and iOS partially) platforms. You will be deeply involved throughout the entire product development cycle—from idea generation to delivery—the Test Engineer will have full autonomy to define and drive testing strategies, ensuring robust and efficient quality standards.

The impact you will create:

  • Identify test activities and test dependencies that span across the backend and frontend domains to ensure the end-to-end quality.
  • Be the gatekeeper for all team deliverables agreed quality levels to ensure that acceptance criteria and definition of done are met before a task is closed.
  • Reflect all changes in the app's behavior and functionality into the regression test suites.
  • Continuously use and test the app to discover issues before anyone else does. As such, be the gatekeeper of the quality of the features and value we produce.
  • Participate with feedback on product ideas and raise concerns about risks related to both the product and the ways of working.
  • Contribute to writing automation for the legacy and upcoming features.
  • Drive technical improvement to cut down the manual repeated work, willing to learn new tools/skills to cut manual work to a minimum.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Commitment to the product, and respect and attitude toward others.

What you bring in:

  • 5+ years of experience in testing mobile applications.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills and excellent manual testing skills.
  • Knowledge of key Android OS functionalities like Notifications, Multi-tasking, Background Job scheduling, payments, etc.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and concisely.
  • Proactively look at gaps in the process or tooling and suggest necessary solutions.
  • Experience with Issue & Project Tracking Software - JIRA.
  • Experience with Android Studio and other Android tooling.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Exposure to any mobile subscription/payments platform, i.e. Google/Apple store.
  • Exposure to any mobile testing automation framework.
  • Programming experience to be able to identify the causes of problems in the code base and communicate efficiently with developers.
