Could you be the full-time IXL Application Design Engineer in Stockholm, Sweden we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll report to the Trackside Engineering Manager based in Stockholm and work alongside passionate, motivated, and dedicated teammates.

You'll be responsible for the software configuration of Interlocking (IXL). The signalling system consists of Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electric, Electronic, and Software components that together ensure safe movements of trains. The purpose of the job is to take part in the execution of IXL application design activities of a Signaling project, adopt the Alstom application design process, and ensure delivery according to the project schedule and quality commitments.

The IXL Application Design Engineer shares with the Project IXL design leader the progress of the activities executed, the issues, and the potential improvements that can be applied on methods and tools.

We'll look to you for:

  • Ensuring the application and adherence to the reference application design methods & tools, requesting in cooperation with the Project IXL design leader deviations whenever appropriate.
  • Participating actively in the IXL detailed design review meetings and providing activity progress reports.
  • Organizing and producing documentation and software design deliveries according to the project planning.
  • Actively supporting the Project IXL design leader and Project V&V manager in design issues debugging.
  • Analyzing and managing change requests, contributing to the definition of the software package deliverables to the Verification & Validation team, and managing the handover to the Installation, Testing & Commissioning team.
  • Ensuring independent workflow between the application design and the verification activities.

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree (preferably in Transport or equivalent).
  • 1 year in IXL and/or TMS and/or ERTMS application design or 1 year experience in relevant positions (systems/sub-system application design) in a highly complex and normative environment (railway signaling, aerospace, defense).
  • English and Swedish language skills.
  • Understanding of the railway traffic control system.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and effective time management.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach.
  • Sense of urgency.
