We are on the lookout for a (Junior) Environmental Products Analyst to join our team in Stockholm in the Trading Analysis & Algorithms unit.

The Trading Analysis & Algorithms department, a pivotal part of the Business Unit (BU) Trading, collaborates closely with trading desks to offer market insights, both fundamental and quantitative, analysis, and essential commercial decision support across various commodity sectors. Within this department, the Algorithmic Trading desk leads in algorithmic trading and automated trade execution spanning BU Trading from intraday to long-term horizons.

Your key responsibilities as a (Junior) Environmental Products Analyst:

  • Conduct relevant fundamental and quantitative analysis to aid traders and actively participate in formulating trading strategies for different environmental products such as Guarantees of Origin, CER, VER, CDR, and other offsets
  • Stay updated on market and policy changes, pinpoint significant fundamental drivers and shifts in regimes, develop price perspectives and sensitivity analyses, and offer related advice to traders via various channels of communication
  • Enhance fundamental and statistical market models and liaise with supporting units on business-focused model enhancement and policy analysis
  • Operationalize and enhance position management and optimization tools for environmental products to facilitate traders' decision-making and extract additional value from the trading portfolio
  • Engage in advancing and automating routines, processes, and applications for analysis or portfolio-related data and information
  • Contribute to the analysis output of the Trading Analysis & Algorithms department and the commercial success of BU Trading
  • Educate traders on relevant environmental products and policy issues
Qualifications

The ideal (Junior) Environmental Products Analyst should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Solid educational background with a Master's degree or higher in disciplines like business, economics, engineering, mathematics, physics, or other relevant quantitative fields
  • Knowledge and initial experience in analyzing environmental products market in a business or trading environment at entities like market research firms, energy companies, banks, or hedge funds
  • Experience with fundamental and quantitative models for environmental product markets and the ability to guide business-driven model development and policy analysis in support functions
  • Additional experience in analyzing other energy commodities, e.g., EU ETS or UK ETS, is advantageous
  • Proficient in statistical, analytical, and programming skills (preferably Python)
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken); additional fluency in Swedish (alternatively Norwegian) is a clear advantage
  • Strong communication abilities with the aptitude to interact with various internal stakeholders and the willingness to share knowledge
  • Outcome-oriented, independent work approach with high dependability and readiness to shoulder responsibilities
  • Proactive team player with a strong desire to learn
