Technical Writer - PureBallast

Do you have a passion for making a positive impact? At Alfa Laval and Wallenius Water, we have collaborated to develop Alfa Laval PureBallast - a solution designed to treat ballast water and prevent the spread of invasive species across marine ecosystems. With a leading position in the market since 2006, we supply systems to ship owners and shipyards worldwide, operating in a fast-paced environment shaped by environmental regulations. We are now on the lookout for a Technical Writer who shares our commitment to driving change.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for the PureBallast system.
  • Create and update system documentation for customers, covering installation, service, operation, and safety instructions.
  • Implement structured documentation processes and contribute to tool and method development in the technical documentation field.
  • Collaborate daily with Mechanical, Automation, Electrical engineers, and Project Managers.
  • Position based in Tumba, south of Stockholm until Spring 2025.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Proficiency in DITA-based component content management systems, such as CCMS. Experience with Tridion Docs is advantageous.
  • Possess an engineer's mindset with a strong technical curiosity.
  • Demonstrated skills in producing clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Experience in documenting large-scale machinery systems, particularly in the maritime sector, is beneficial.
  • Strong team player with exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Fluent in both Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.

About Alfa Laval in Tumba

Alfa Laval, presently situated in Tumba, will move to Flemingsberg, Sweden's largest urban business development area, by Spring 2025. In partnership with Fabege, Alfa Laval is constructing an innovative workplace to inspire current and future employees, offering an exceptional experience for all stakeholders.

The new site will prioritize employee well-being, featuring modern offices and a digital workspace to enhance productivity. Additionally, a cutting-edge lab will focus on developing and testing products related to ballast water treatment, alongside an educational center within this advanced setup.
