For our client, we are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist for a long-term consulting assignment. This position involves an overall responsibility for payroll processes and transactions. The Senior Payroll Specialist ́s responsibilities include processing timesheets, updating payroll records, answering employee questions about payments and to ensure employees are compensated correctly and on time.

Our client's office is located in Södermalm, Stockholm, but you can work remotely 2-3 days per week. The assignment starts in August and will last for at least 6 months, likely longer. Are you interested? Please continue reading.

Key tasks

- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of payroll operations.

Coordinate with the external payroll provider.

Process time sheets and ensure timely monthly closing.

Process expenses and ensure compliance with regulations.

Update time and attendance and expense systems (e.g., new hires, terminations).

Prepare and submit monthly payroll input to the external provider.

Verify payroll information for accuracy and completeness.

Coordinate with HR on payroll changes (e.g., terminations, new hires).

Update salary or wage adjustments.

Handle financial compensations and deductions (e.g., bonuses, severance pay, taxes).

Work with authorities (e.g. Skatteverket, Försäkringskassan, Statistiska Centralbyrån and auditors) on audits or requests

Administration of pensions, benefits and insurances (e.g. new hires and terminations,

updating salaries, salary exchange)

Your profile

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who thrives on accuracy and consistently double-checks their work. Despite the payroll being outsourced, significant manual handling is required. This is a stand-alone position with limited stakeholders, providing the opportunity to take full ownership of the payroll function. You will work closely with the People Operations and HR team, assisting with payroll-related tasks and ensuring the timely submission of time reports.

In this role, you will handle payroll for approximately 200 employees and support the transition from Agda to ECIT systems. Coordination with the external payroll provider (Agda) and facilitating the migration to ECIT will be key responsibilities. You will need to be available to work onsite two days per week to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

The ideal candidate will have experience with both Agda and ECIT payroll systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment.
