We are currently looking for a Country & Bank Analyst within our Credit Analysis department.
Credit Analysis is a key supporting unit for SEB's Large Corporate & Financial Institutions (LC&FI) division and Group Credits, writing incisive analysis and supporting business and credit decisions makers. A Country & Bank Analyst position is open withing the Bank & Country Risk (B&CR) team. In addition to country risks, the B&CR team covers banks, non-bank financial institutions and geopolitical risks. This is a great opportunity for an economist with a keen interest on international economics and a desire to contribute to SEB's global operations.
About the role:
As a Country & Bank Analyst you will work with 7 other country, bank and geopolitical analysts in the B&CR team. You will learn and be expected to use SEB's approach to the credit risk analysis in both mature and developing markets.
You are expected to understand the key drivers of country risk such as economic, social and governance risks as well as external finances (balance of payments, external financing needs, external debt burden, etc).You are also expected to understand the key drivers of bank analysis, especially in merging markets.
You will be responsible for monitoring a portfolio of countries and banks on a regular basis, including annual reviews and presentations to the relevant SEB credit committees.
The position involves occasional travel.
To thrive in this role, we believe you have:
·A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as country/sovereign analyst.
·A master's degree or equivalent in economics.
·Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in speech and writing.
·Experience in understanding and evaluating financial risks as well as a good grasp of various financial instruments is seen as very valuable.
·High personal integrity and ability to work both independently as well as in teams. You are expected to be organized and flexible. You can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
·You have an analytical mindset as well as a "big picture" perspective and persistence to see initiatives through.
·Proficiency in English is a prerequisite. Proficiency in Swedish and other international languages is an advantage.
·Since you will interact with senior decision makers internally as well as at management level with our clients, you need to possess great intrapersonal and communication skills.
