Position Description:

The Senior Consultant of Financial Business Services (FBS) is an accounting expert responsible for providing comprehensive general accounting support to the legal entity. As a senior consultant in the FBS team, you will primarily focus on tasks such as local financial statements, audits, local taxation, statistical reporting, reviewing and documenting monthly balance sheets, advising on accounting treatment (including in the context of Mergers & Acquisitions), reporting directly to the Manager FBS.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise and in-depth knowledge of accounting standards, encompassing both IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and oversee external audits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax declarations (indirect tax).
  • Participate in SOX and various compliance accounting activities (covering direct and indirect taxes, payroll, and statutory financial statements).
  • Engage in specific aspects of the monthly closing process (e.g., member-related accruals).
  • Ensure precision and thoroughness of all asset and liability accounts, aligning with IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Finance & Accounting services.
  • Foster the development of the local FBS finance team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Manager FBS and act as a delegate.

Required qualifications to excel in this role:

  • Functional/Technical:
  • Thorough understanding of IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Proficiency in preparing financial statements, cash flows, and tax filings.
  • Solid knowledge of local tax regulations and financial compliance.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Oracle finance applications is advantageous.

Geographic Requirements:

  • Local role with minimal travel expectations.
  • Position based in the primary location (Stockholm).

Qualifications & Education:

  • University Degree and an accounting designation (CPA – CMA, CGA, CA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).
  • Fluency in Swedish and/or Norwegian.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a complex, high-volume international services organization.
  • Background in working with auditors and internal controls within a SOX-regulated environment.
  • Team management experience.
  • Proven track record of providing coaching and training to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving continuous process improvements in a financial setting.
  • Preferably, experience in the Service industry.
