We are seeking Art Directors

This role revolves around merging creativity, storytelling, and technology to develop exceptional communication that continually captivates our target audiences, supports IKEA in achieving its business objectives, and reinforces our strong brand image. It involves generating interest in home furnishing, establishing a robust brand presence, and boosting visitation.

Within this role, you will have the chance to brainstorm and research the project while collaborating closely with a creative team comprising other professionals such as creative directors, copywriters, interior designers, graphic designers, photographers, 3D artists, among others.

Additionally, in your role, you will:

  • Create stories and communication concepts following IKEA's positioning and communication strategies, tone of voice, effective production methods, and current consumer trends.
  • Investigate opportunities/limitations to reach relevant target audiences via various media and platforms.
  • Apply your creative problemsolving skills in all project aspects.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to execute communication ideas and supervise production.
  • Pitch your concepts to a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Cultivate strong relationships and foster excellent teamwork with all team members and stakeholders.

You excel in turning strategies into creative concepts. Comfortable engaging with all organizational levels, you confidently present your ideas and collaborate closely with internal partners. Your receptive listening skills are exceptional, and you are always open to exploring new approaches. No task is too daunting for you. As a strategic thinker, you are self-driven, adaptable, daring, and passionate about effective communication and teamwork.

Your inquisitiveness has no bounds, and you possess a keen interest in understanding people's domestic lives and home furnishings. Driven by growth, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning, you stay updated on the latest design, retail, and digital trends, displaying a profound fascination with consumer behavior and the ever-evolving social and cultural landscape.

Additionally, you should have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience or education in art direction, visual communication, or similar fields, preferably in an international environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a creative team from concept creation to execution across various media, showcased in a personal portfolio.
  • The ability to uphold and develop a robust brand identity.
  • Experience working with a broad spectrum of media and channels, including digital platforms, integrated campaigns, and social media.
  • Current knowledge of today's multi-channel landscape, market trends, and industry.
  • Experience in different production methods such as studio production, 3D animation, computer-generated imagery (CG), and motion media.
  • Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage your workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in creating concepts for motion media and working on various motion media projects, preferably in a large retail organization.
