Your future team
You will be an integral part of a diverse group of Test engineers and Design for Production engineers working together to launch Axis products. This role offers a wide range of creative interfaces and the chance to collaborate with various departments such as Mechanics, Electronics Production, Software, Supply Chain, and Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS's).
What will you do?
As a Design for Production Engineer, your main responsibility will be to ensure that our latest innovations can be efficiently produced in large volumes. You will play a key role in developing assembly-friendly products and time-efficient production processes. By creating top-notch security products, you contribute to fulfilling Axis' commitment to making communities worldwide safer and smarter. Your work will largely revolve around project-based assignments. In each project, you will:
- Initiate workshops and discussions focused on 'design for assembly'
- Define the product's assembly process and collaborate on the full production process with our manufacturing partners in North America, Asia, or Europe
- Establish design requirements for complex assembly and test fixtures, ensure their accurate manufacturing, and oversee their timely delivery to our manufacturing partners
- Visit the product's manufacturing site during at least one pre-production build to validate the production process (expect up to 30 days of travel annually)
This role heavily relies on effective teamwork and communication across different departments. Often referred to as the 'spider-in-the-web,' you will have a significant impact on various project areas and engage with numerous stakeholders.

- Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
- Demonstrated interest in production
- Proficient English language skills
Advantageous skills and qualifications:
- Knowledge of mechatronic systems
- Experience with 3D CAD programs and PDM systems
- Background in SMT production, automation, or optics
- International work experience
