As the Material & Innovation Manager (MIM), you will play a crucial role in driving Metal's innovation agenda across all businesses, spearheading the journey from inception to implementation of new solutions. Collaborating closely with the Category Area and fellow MIM colleagues, your key focus will be on setting the Material Direction for metal, with a strong commitment to achieving the ambitious target of reducing our climate footprint by 50% compared to 2016, aligning with the Paris agreement.

Leading the Material Direction for metal at IKEA, you will steer the development process and ensure seamless integration of innovative projects in collaboration with Range Development & Innovation. It is vital that the innovation portfolio effectively bridges any gaps towards our -50% footprint reduction goal by 2030. Your leadership will be instrumental in inspiring and mobilizing a team of dedicated professionals to revolutionize the value chain and foster impactful change.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Create, spearhead, develop, and implement the Material Direction for metal across all IKEA businesses.
  • Drive and prioritize the Metal Innovation portfolio in alignment with various Home Furnishing Businesses, Categories, Development & Innovation Network (DIN), and Development & Innovation in Range.
  • Forge networks with potential innovation partners to amplify collaborative opportunities.
  • Represent Metal as a key spokesperson within the IKEA ecosystem.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange and capability enhancement among relevant stakeholders within IKEA.
  • Champion the Leadership and Competence agenda fostering a team of exceptional skills.
  • Exemplify and uphold IKEA's culture and Values as an ambassador and role model.
